As a pastor, I realize that I have a very public persona.  Most people know me by my preaching, teaching, or community leadership.  But perhaps you don’t know quite so much about me.

I became Pastor of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie in 2006.  My responsibilities as pastor include preaching, encouraging spiritual formation, providing pastoral care, and leading our church to discover and engage our God-given mission.

I am a graduate of Georgetown CollegeBaptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. I came to Ahoskie from the First Baptist Church of Frankfort, Kentucky, where I served as Pastoral Resident, a pilot program funded by the Lilly Foundation and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.  I was ordained to the Gospel Ministry by that very fine church.

For Sabbath time, I enjoy family activities, searching for the best cup of coffee, channeling my inner chef, and learning photography.

If you have any questions regarding your faith journey, pastoral ministry, our church in general, or if I may pray for you, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or at (252) 332-4003.

Worship With Us

Our worship (Sundays at 11am) is shaped by the liturgical calendar year and is traditional in nature. We enjoy creative and integrated worship experiences through the use of hymns, responsive readings and prayers, scripture readings from the Revised Common Lectionary, musical meditations by our various choirs and instrumentalists, testimonies of faith, and preaching from God's word.
